After I put the refill in the heating pad as instructed, turn it on. After about 30 minutes I walk down the hall and see a puddle of oil on the carpet and a strong smell of lots of oil. I go and check all the plugins I just bought and 3 out of 5 I bought are leaking. I thought maybe I did something so I go back to the instructions and see that I followed very simple instructions on T. I replaced the rod thinking maybe it was a faulty box of rods no leak again. The oil won't come off my carpet, the hardwood is fine, just the overwhelming smell. I should have looked at the reviews first, there were many people with the same problem, but I only see the problem with the new updated plugin, which I'm obviously writing about. Save some money and choose a different version or product.
