I ordered these compression socks because I've been having trouble with some varicose veins that I have on the back of my legs between the lower calf and heel.I do notice an alleviation from the soreness/burning, caused by the varicose veins, when I have compression type stockings/socks on.I ordered a size Large because my calf circumference (I have big calf muscles) is just over 15". You really do need to check the size chart and measure the thickest part of you calf for the most accurate sizing.These go on like pantyhose, but with less stretch.There really isn't any compression in the toe area, so you don't have to worry about your toes getting squished.These are labeled as "knee high", but I have shorter legs (I'm 5' 3" tall) and they go well past my knee. I just fold the top down until it's at the height that I want. I haven't had a problem with them rolling down yet, but they're still new.
