We received the screws specifically for installing the old iron brackets used to support the shelf. They were everything we expected and more, I half expected to have to forge my own which would take the rest of my life, but they fit the bill. They do not overpower the mount, but complement its appearance and aesthetics. I was skeptical just because they were slotted but they are very well made with very good material and will stand up to a flat head screwdriver with its many flaws.
