I used to use a suction cup mount that stuck to the windshield. The problem was that it partially blocked my vision and sometimes lost suction and fell off. This holder fits perfectly in one of the cup holders in my car, my phone is clearly visible and it doesn't fall out. You need to make sure it's snug enough in the cup holder by turning the adjustment knob.
