UL requires a hole in the ceiling for mounting, not for flush mounting
This item. The entire blanket or box is required, not just the cord. To fit in a ceiling or box I had to cut a hole in the drywall to insert it. I've used other flat-flush ones less than just lay flat. I got it working but it wasn't as easy as it could be so they're selling used because people were returning them
