Review on 🐶 Empire Dog Cage by ProSelect by Kimberly Dionne

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Did my miracle arrive via UPS?

Cells ProSelect Empire - Medium Received this yesterday. UPS left it on my patio, didn't have to sign for it, so I was happy. It is difficult. As another reviewer wrote, if the steel tubes weren't hollow, this thing would be too heavy to move (at least for me). I will update this review over the days. It was easy to assemble. I installed a floor grille before installing it in the rear as another reviewer suggested. I tried to put the roof on without lying on my side. Do not do that. It went in and I had to unscrew the back to get it out. let it be on his side Also, my box is a little wobbly - I need to tighten one of the wheels. MY FAULT, not the manufacturer. I haven't had any rust issues as other reviewers have noted. Mine was absolutely clean. It was an unusual smell, but it's already gone. It seems SO STRONG compared to wire cages. I'm very happy with how strong it seems at the moment. For the bottom of the grid, I cut out a 1/2 inch thick rubber exercise mat (the kind that sticks together for the gym floor) and laid it out. I would do this even if the floor wasn't battened. As another reviewer pointed out, crate problems aren't solved by a stronger crate. I have a rescue dog. She was abused in her first home, abandoned in her second. I've had her for many years and I didn't need to put her in a cage because she was a really good girl, but I moved in a year and a half ago and she's been TERRIBLE ever since. He smashed two doors and four doorknobs. He pooped and peed on the carpet. She obviously doesn't like change. Now. Because of her past, she HATES crates. I tried it with 3 wire boxes. The latest from PetSmart should be durable and resilient, but of course no guarantees. She broke it on day one. So I took her to kindergarten. I love kindergarten. Francis Kennels in Xenia, Ohio has a wonderful preschool for the people of the area. I can't say enough good things about her. But it's a 45 minute drive from my house and 1/2 hour to work. That is much. A plus. I am not rich. They're not super expensive, but it adds up. with gas money, but also doors, doorknobs, carpet cleaners, cages. My crate training process for my girl consisted of removing the door from the old wire cage, which wasn't difficult because it barely hung and was bent. For three months I give her treats and all the food in the cage. I put their blankets inside. In two months she will go there voluntarily. A few nights ago I had to drive across town and I was hoping I could just leave her alone for 3 hours without causing any harm and without taking her to daycare. A year has passed. was she healed? no She peed on her bed, got food out of the kitchen cupboard and I honestly just sat on the floor and cried. I know she's been through a lot, but so have I. I couldn't afford this box, but without it I just don't know how much more I can take. I'm tired of driving and I'm tired of worrying about her when I'm away. When I adopted her, I promised her that my house would be hers as long as I lived, but I was tired. I'm sad. Anyway she broke a tooth while sleeping in the kennel and I think she can with this cage but I hope I can put her mind at ease. As I write this, she is fast asleep, curled up in a cage on top of a blanket. The door is open but this morning the door was closed and I praised her and gave her a treat and she sighed heavily and went to bed. Later today I'll try to leave her alone with the door closed for about ten minutes and then maybe half an hour if she can handle it. My dog trainer told me to give her a shank of beef to keep her occupied and that if I was gone even ten minutes my dog should be in a cage for the next few months. He said she had picked up some very bad habits and needed new ones. But IF it works, IF this box holds, I won't leave it. I'm afraid she'll go through the glass door one day. If this box lasts, it will have paid for itself in 2.8911 months - only the kindergarten costs - without gas money. I'll post updates as we go but wanted to at least post a message that this box feels sturdy, easy enough to put together and wasn't rusty. Update: left her alone in the kennel for an hour/hour and a half. . He held her! SO HAPPY. I bought D-rings to strengthen the door for the days I leave it alone, but honestly I don't see the need for it. I am VERY happy at the moment. Update: It's been a few weeks now. One of those weeks I was out of town and my dog was at an animal shelter. However, life is getting back to normal. What can I say, now my life is NORMAL. I no longer worry about the damage she did to my house. At first I was very worried that she might escape because of the comments about the poor welding of the door hinges. As I left, I locked the sides of the door. My friend tried to break down the door but couldn't, so I stopped worrying about it. I use two carabiners to lock two door bolts. She likes to go outside in the afternoons, but I can tell that she is getting happier and more confident every day. I've paid a lot for dog sitting, smaller cages, doors, doorknobs, potty racks, etc. It all pales in comparison to the heartbreak and anxiety I've been going through. It seems like a lot of money for this box and I understand that. It was also expensive for me. I know you can read negative reviews. and think maybe it's not as good as you need it to be. Perhaps those who have had a bad batch with faulty welds will turn you away from the box. I almost didn't buy this box. My dog chews on the bars of the box. And yes, some trim strips will come off in the process. This does not affect the strength of the box. I give her a blanket to lie on, but she usually folds it up and lies on the bare bars when I get home. My peace of mind with my dog - he's finally returned to me.
