Review on Crystalline Precision Captured: Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM Lens Unveiled by Hiral Gupta ᠌

The right product for me, there were no problems.

I waited a long time for this glass to appear on sale in Hong Kong, but due to the situation on the market, the prices turned out to be very high, as a result I ordered it on e-bay from Japan. I shoot with a 650D and have a number of relatively budget lenses, including a 40mm f2.8 STM with a similar design that was my favorite. Now I have two favorite lenses. The rest of the large and heavy glasses do not particularly want to carry around with you all the time, and these two are a great team. Of course, the sharpness of the new pancake is smaller, but the focal length is very good, more versatile. On a 40mm crop, it was sometimes narrow. The picture is soft, the bokeh is a bit elongated, like a film. At the time of purchase (March 2022), a correction profile appeared for both camera raw and carcass - this completely compensates for kick and chromatism. Focuses quickly and almost silently, great for video. A lens for cropped matrices, so it doesn’t particularly pretend to be a professional segment, but for more mundane conditions it’s quite an acceptable option in terms of price / picture quality ratio. I recommend it as an excellent replacement for whale optics, versatility and compactness allow you to constantly carry the camera with you.

Pros
  • Price in dollars ($150); Compact, light weight; Good focal length; Aperture; Fast and quiet focusing;
Cons
  • Price in (at the time of publication ~15,000); Soaps; Chromatitis; Barrel;

I took it for cases when it is not possible to take a full-fledged EF-S 17-55mm f / 2.8 IS USM with me. 17-55, of course sharper. Looks cute on the EOS50D. But fulfills its purpose for 100%. And in the dark and during the day.

Has some pros light compact cutting indestructible Different cons: I would like another 16 mm in the same case
