Review on 🦈 SharkBite SS3094FLEX24LF Water Heater Connector: Reliable Push-To-Connect Copper, PEX, CPVC Hose - 1" X 1" FIP X 24 by Rail Basri

Bought two and mounted side by side. One failed in the first half hour. After the first inspection, I left the house and returned to the mess hall. I found the coupling was leaking so I tightened the fitting a bit but it kept leaking. The leak wasn't coming from the "mating" side that everyone is worried about, it was coming from the NPT side, and not from the threads, but from under the splined shaft and inner sleeve (the part that rotates) . I closed the valve and removed the whole thing. I found that the seal was defective. It was literally ripped apart and leaking as a result. Huge mess, late night trip to the hardware store etc. Now it's back hardened with Pex but I removed the other flexible Sharkbite ss line beforehand. Upon inspection, this seal also looked a little torn. The water temp was within the specified limits (<180) and I didn't over tighten them. Attached is a photo of the defective seal which literally broke in two.
