Works great, all real stainless steel parts

I compared many models when I decided to try the Moka coffee maker after trying a friend's coffee maker while on vacation. Many reviews by others mention rust ranging from a few uses to a few months of use. I have had and have been using it daily for about 5 months and there is no visible rust. It really is all stainless steel top and bottom. I just rinse it with water to clean it and occasionally wipe the inside with a paper towel. I started with the cheap Folgers I had and then switched to higher quality coffees. I tried Lavazza brand instant coffee during a trip to London provided by the hotel and I really liked the taste. So I tried Lavazza Perfetto coffee. I quickly found that this pot (and I suspect most of these moka types) have problems with very finely ground coffee. Lavazza is ground very finely, although it is still referred to as coffee and not expresso. However, the coffee is too fine and clogs the hole where the water/steam rises, creating excessive steam/pressure, and then the coffee goes to the bottom as well. I had a lot of vapor coming out of the valve on the bottom which is specifically designed to vent when the pressure gets too high. coffee grounds. I've tried several ways/things to fix this: amount of coffee (less and more), making sure the coffee isn't pressing down, turning down the fire/flame on the gas stove, preheating water in the microwave to boiling point, then starting from that water. None of them solved the problem. In the end I decided to put a small amount of ground coffee (regular grind) on the bottom filter and then all the way up to keep the fine coffee from clogging the top holes. It worked, although now I don't have the full flavor of a coffee (Lavazza). But it works well enough. I also tried going back to a regular filter coffee maker with Lavazza, but using the same amount of water and coffee resulted in a weak coffee taste. So I would have to either use a lot more coffee in the coffee maker or stick with this method. When it arrived, the handle wobbled a bit and the lid felt flimsy and sat a little warped on top. There is a screw to tighten the handle and I tightened it but the handle remains loose/wobbly. Just an annoyance, not a problem. I bent the lid a bit to make it fit snugly at the top. This is definitely not the best item for travel - the lid can bend or break. But with everyday use at home, everything is fine. melting problems. However, I use a fifth, smaller burner on my stove for heating. I won't let the flame get under the handle.
