Make Great Toast. I bought this to make toast in my trailer which normally runs on batteries charged by solar panels so I can avoid high drain electrical appliances. I bake bread from grain that I have ground myself and I really like it when it is toasted. I have fried bread that requires very little oil to fry and differs in flavor or texture. This little stovetop toaster makes great toasts and brings out the nutty flavor of the beans even better than a toaster or toaster oven. made an oven at home. Ever since I got this, I've been using it to make toast at home instead of my toaster; it's actually faster and I prefer toast. My range has fairly large grills that create visible cooler spots on the screen, so I added a layer of stainless steel screen (that I had lying around) to help with heat distribution; It probably wasn't necessary, but I think it helps a little. Performance probably depends on what gas burner it's running on, but so far I think it's great. For an RV, I appreciate that it's lightweight and foldable.
