I took this key to a professional for programming. He could only get him to start the car. The remote control cannot lock/unlock doors or turn the alarm on/off. The key was cut off, so it's basically a $100 ignition key (key + programming fee), which isn't very convenient. The programmer said that the key was broken, he tried several times to get it to work. Of course I had to pay him to try anyway, it's not his fault the key was broken. This was on a 2010 Ford Expedition, your experience may vary. The key has been cut off and therefore cannot be returned/exchanged. This will only be my spare key but I still feel like I wasted my money.
