Absolute privacy. Pretty easy to install.

I am very satisfied with this product. He did all the work for our tailgate with full lighting. I wanted to get rid of problematic, annoying blinds; but also need privacy and want the light to come in. For a very simple look, I opted for the sandblasted foil look. Nothing can be seen through the foil, neither inside nor outside. Standing close to the door, only the silhouette is visible, as you can see in the picture, the frame of the storm door. It can eliminate UV; but does not noticeably reduce the heat from direct sunlight. I wiped the glass gently with alcohol; Don't forget to also scrape off small "chunks" that are stuck to the glass. Also remove/cut any uneven sealant along the glass/frame. The instructions recommend a tenth of an inch gap all the way around, and I will say that on the side where there was only one GAP, it WAS MUCH EASIER to remove the remaining microscopic bubbles around the edge. I used a factory hem on one long side. On the other long side I used a ruler and a new blade; but still couldn't hold that hairy boundary of space. This is only noticeable on closer inspection. I used a lot of pure water on glass and film. (The side of the film with the removable backing is the side that sticks to the glass.) It took a minute to complete the process, but I fiddled with the long, large piece. Initially, the film was smooth and could be moved; And even then, all you have to do is gently cleanse, re-wet, and smooth the shaky spot. I used my hand and then a credit card to gently smooth it out. I think in a smaller window this would be pretty easy. I recommend trimming it so you have an extra inch on the sides you want to trim. Apply foil, squeeze out large bubbles and most of the water, then cut off. Then finish smoothing until all the little bubbles are gone. These microscopic/almost invisible bubbles were only along the hand-cut edge (no gaps) the next day - they really pop out with an effort of conviction. It's only been 2 days but no problems; and I'm very glad I did. If you have wallpapered before, this is much easier. If you don't have one, but can use a (new) point knife and tiny scraper, you can find out.
