Review on LEZYNE Dual Valve Alternative Bicycle Pump Head: Presta, Schrader, & Dunlop Compatible for High-Pressure Tire Floor Pumps by Alan Brewer

Lezyne's most versatile head

I bought a Lezyne pump a few years ago. I like the pump itself, but the head that came with the pump was very disappointing. Some of the Presta valves were difficult to reach and didn't hold up well. Even worse were Shrader valves, several of which I have in the garage on my kids' bikes. The cartridge should be screwed onto the valve by default and does not unscrew easily, making it difficult to push it on far enough to open the valve. I bought an ABS-1 Pro head. It requires a connection to both the Presta and the Shrader, but it connects more easily and switches relatively quickly. The problem is related to Presta valves with removable cores. The seal in the cartridge neck provides enough friction to unscrew some of the removable valve stems, deflating a freshly inflated tire. I ended up buying this head. It's by far the simplest of the three, especially in situations that require frequent switching between Presta and Shrader. Ironically, this head appears to be more budget-friendly and is therefore made of plastic rather than metal like the other two heads. If Lezin made a good one out of metal I would consider buying it. Regardless, I recommend this nozzle as the standard for all Lezyne pumps, although it's still not the best nozzle I've used. Lezyne makes some really good pumps, but in my opinion it seems like they went a little wrong with the head design.
