In general, it accomplishes the task for which it was purchased, which is to vacuum the floor. I decided to buy it washing out of sheer curiosity because it had never been like that before. In point of fact, washing is accomplished by having the spray cannon on the nozzle spray water underneath it onto the floor. The vacuum cleaner then picks up the water and uses a specialized rubber nozzle to scrub the floor clean of dirt using the water. It would be more accurate to say that you are sweeping the floor, but in general it will do. Extremely cumbersome and weighty; because of its size and weight, it may not be suitable for use by a woman. Because I had animals in the house, the wool quickly accumulated in the dust bag, and after three cleanings it was entirely full. It is not yet obvious why so soon, where to buy new bags, how much they cost, or how often they will need to be changed. Nor is it clear why they need to be changed. According to what I gathered from reading the directions, the bags cannot be reused after being emptied by shaking them.
