I was pleasantly surprised by this toy as all the tools were functional and realistic. I used these to teach my kids about tools and tool safety guidelines; we had a blast!Pros: The tools work smoothly and are quite functional even though they are plastic. They are realistic and easy to use when mimicking use of real tools. The tape measure is basically a real tape measure that you can use which has both metric and imperial measurements. The drill actually works with the bigger screws that come with the kit. The little screws work with the little screwdriver which you need to put your toolbox together. Speaking of putting the toolbox together - that was just a fun great experience overall with my daughter; we got to put to use what I taught her about tools and she did great! The kid also comes with a neat safety vest kids can wear which my daughter thoroughly enjoyed.Cons: The screws that come with the kit are designed to fit both the phillips and flathead drill attachments. I was hoping for some screws designed just for the flathead as a teaching opportunity. The other con is that I thought this was such a cool toy and that deserved/needed more use. After the toolbox project, there isn't much else you can build. I looked at the company that creates these toys to see if they sold any other projects we can build with the numerous remaining screws, but they do not seem to. It'd be neat if the kids could put together new things using this exact kit so they can continue to do fun projects with these realistic tool kits.Overall - my daughter, son, and I loved this toy and played with it for a long time. It provided great teaching lessons regarding tools, safety, and projects. And it is significantly cheaper than the other brand name tool toys out there. A bonus plus that we can use the toolbox the kids created to store all of the parts!
