It only took a few minutes to screw three round wooden pegs into the platform. The wood is not varnished so safe for your little parrot. The rings are lightweight and can be easily picked up by a bird and placed on a pin. I think this is a well designed toy. Our bird is wary of anything new in its environment. He seemed very interested in wooden pegs. Maybe he thought he was getting more bass! He wasn't afraid of plastic rings. I have to give him time to get used to it. I think this toy will be more accepted than the others because it doesn't threaten him.
