I bought this knife just for one job. To rip 1000 square feet of carpet, plus padding out of my home. I cut it up into manageable 10 foot by 3 foot strips and rolled them up. Over 30 of them by the time the job was done. I was on my hands and knees putting my full weight down on this knife as I pulled it through some 15 year old medium pile carpet. It worked like a champ! I went through 4 of 5 blades during the job. I was worried that the blades might bend or break with all that force and weight on them, but they held up great too.When I purchased it, I was prepared to toss the knife in the trash after the job was done, thinking it would be toast. My hands were sore for a week, but the knife is still like new. Ready for the next job.
