Great Buy!: Exterior Accessories

We are so glad we chose this roof rack. FYI: This requires crossbars, which I wasn't aware of when I bought it. But! It's a lot bigger than we expected and made our move out of state with our last few belongings that much easier. We put in a large 2" x 4" crate, two standard fridges, and a few other smaller crates and bags, plus a 42" folded dog crate. We used a mesh top to secure everything and a ratchet strap to keep the box in place. It worked like a charm. The roof rack is very durable and easy to assemble. Both of my complaints are that when we assembled the trunk itself, we had issues with one of the snap-on side panels not matching the screw holes. A few of the screw holes on the plates were offset slightly, but not so much that the screws couldn't be countersunk properly with a little fumbling. But the last panel I tried to attach only came in with the bottom screw because the top hole was so misaligned that there was no way to get the screw in properly. Insanely difficult to deal with a tiny washer and collar and bolting the grips. We ended up achieving this by cursing a lot and rearranging the stairs we climbed there. However, I have to say that this pup did really well on our 9 hour drive to our new location. He held everything securely, didn't buckle under the weight and that was really great. We will enjoy this on our travels for years to come! Five stars for quality and versatility, -1 star for installation difficulties and screw hole issues. But! We would definitely buy it again.
