Doesn't work for hardware

The silicone cover on them began to crack within the first week of installation on our chairs, causing the felt padding to tip over to the side of the chair leg. Instead of staying under the leg and making contact with the ground, the felt pads fold over to the side of the chair leg as more and more of these silicone sleeves are torn. Maybe if you have really smooth floors and only adults use your chairs this could work. Our kids push their chairs back while still sitting in them and the extra weight on the chair seems to accelerate the cracking of the silicone.
