My 3 year old Furion fell into disrepair quickly. I'm not sure if it was water in the lens or sun damage, but the image became very blurry. I was disappointed that the camera couldn't be replaced, so my research began. While I was happy with the Furion, the display was small and I wasn't expecting a high replacement cost! The fact that they didn't have a replacement for the camera was also very disappointing and I assumed the same could happen in the future. So I started researching a new camera system. There seems to be more choice now than there was a few years ago and the prices seem more reasonable. Furion gets good reviews and in my experience the system itself has always worked well. However, the price of Furion has not decreased, it has even increased! The prices for some systems seemed too good to be true! My fifth wheel is 41 feet long, so signal strength was important. After reading numerous reviews, I decided on the Haloview RD7 system. This particular version of Haloview comes with an extender or as some say a repeater that brings the signal closer to the monitor. Installation - Haloview comes with everything you need including zip ties, Furion mounting hardware and power cords, lots of cables to reach the front of a 41ft trailer, a monitor, multiple ways to mount the monitor, a camera and an extension with assembly line. It took me about 1.5 hours from start to finish to unplug the old camera and install the new system. When using an extension cable, it should be noted that the antenna folds in one direction. I've seen pictures of people plugging the power strip forward, I've turned mine the other way around. This allows a branch or other object hitting the antenna to simply lay it on the ground without damaging it. Just something to think about. I don't think I've ever seen a manufacturer pack so many extras into their packaging. This is one of the few products where I didn't have to run to the hardware store to buy the essentials. The caveat to this review is that I have not ridden the system yet but will be in a few weeks and will update then. The picture quality is amazing, that clarity and field of view, way better than my old Furion. Installing the monitor was easy, although I will be ordering a suction cup mount in the near future. The sound isn't bad, although I see that as a problem with the ambient noise at the campsite, but by no means a deal breaker. The menu options on the monitor are numerous, that's all there is to offer here! Now I will order side view cameras for extra views!
