I installed this using a Raspberry Pi 4 and although the build seemed unnecessarily complicated I was very happy to see that I didn't have to dig into the operating system once I got it working to change the display settings to make it work. Also, I didn't have to solder anything to get the touchscreen working. The ribbon cable was a little fiddly to install once the Pi board was fully installed, but otherwise nothing exceptional - except flickering. while loading. Once the system was up and running, the touchscreen worked, and while the display wasn't stunning in terms of picture quality, it was pretty good. After a few weeks, however, that boot flickering returned. And it got worse. And worse. And in the end the display just died. It sat on my desk so it wasn't dropped or moved. He's just breathed his last.
