Bought about a month ago hoping to organize a pantry. Although they look beautiful and appear durable, they are advertised as being airtight. After a few weeks of storing sugar, granola, and other nonperishable foods in these blocks, the sugar turned into a giant brick and the granola went stale. Sugars and grains stored in their original open pouches retain their freshness better than these containers. Wow, for $100 you would expect this to work. The seal is so weak that I can just remove the lid fairly easily after pressing the button to close it. Mine may be defective, but judging by recent reviews this can be quite common.
