Review on ACDelco Silver 14D1363CH: Top-Quality Ceramic Front Disc Brake Pad Set with Hardware for Enhanced Performance by Jeremy Hahn

Great OEM replacement for 2008 Tahoe LTZ

I installed these on our 2008 Tahoe to replace aging front pads that were squeaking for too long. I also took this opportunity to replace both front rotors with ACDelco Advantage rotors as the existing ones had noticeable grooves. The car has over 90,000 miles on it and I have no idea when the brakes were last serviced. Overall, parts for the front brake pads and rotors cost less than $150. I am satisfied with both products. The noise is gone and these brakes offer excellent stopping power. These brakes are adequate for most riders - don't feel like you're "cheaping" by buying cheaper Advantage brakes. I trust the ACDelco brand to deliver a quality product that matches OEM quality at an affordable price. Be sure to clean the old grease from the caliper guide pins and apply some new grease such as "Sil-Glyde". I just took them out, wiped away most of the old grease with a paper towel, and then applied a small amount of new Sil-Glyde. A little goes a long way, so a $7 tube will last a lifetime. You would also want a stand alone product like "Silent Brake Disc" to easily coat all metals on metal contact surfaces during brake pad installation. This is a different product than Sil-Glyde. Haven't noticed a lot of brake dust so far, but they haven't been used long enough to really feel it. If I remember, I'll update this review in a few months to let you know.
