All non-stick coatings will peel off after 6 months of use. Now I'm concerned about the health risks of consuming non-stick coatings. We are a small family and we usually only have two adults at home and we only cook rice for dinner. I called customer service and they told me the nonstick material is Teflon. We all know that Teflon can cause cancer. There is no indication in their product description that the non-stick material is Teflon. If I had known it was made of Teflon I would not have bought this rice cooker.
