We lost power after a big storm and ran on the generator for several days. When power was restored I checked the surge suppressors in the watch and found that most of them were acting as splitters. They did their job and coped with any overload. I ordered an Echogear 3420 Joules 12-Output Low Profile Surge Protector for my computer and external drives. Ordered 8-socket versions for kitchen laptop, smart TVs, home theater, cable modem, etc. The low profile makes it easy to attach or hide the device. The extra wide space was great for items with power supplies. does not block other forks. The only item on my wish list would be a longer power cord for the 12” outlet. I had to renovate my office because the cable is only 6 feet long. About a week after I installed the Echogears, our street caught fire. The culprit turned out to be an extension cord using an extension cord plugged into an outlet. After that incident, I took a detour and replaced surge protectors, splitters, and extension cords for our elderly relatives.
