Review on πŸ”₯ Immerse Yourself with Avegant Glyph AG101 VR Headsets - Experience Patented Retinal Imaging Technology & MOPS 3D Virtual Reality Goggles with HDMI Connectivity by Scott Ward

I really wanted them to like it.

Unfortunately not every description fits and this is one of those cases. These are NOT VR glasses. While CAN delivers a "deep" 3D image, this headset doesn't even come close to a VR experience. I've checked these out a few times (even put them on my wish list) but it wasn't until I was sent a Revain marketing email with a drastically reduced price that I decided to give them a shot. Unfortunately I was disappointed with this experience. First I have to say that they are well packaged/protected. Unfortunately, the instructions are in Chinese, which I don't speak/read. If a company wants to sell its product in the US, it has to write a manual in the native language of its target audience. Second, the resolution is only 720P. While the optics behind the cause are too long to detail here, this 720P image can hardly be distinguished from the 1080P image. However, this is nothing more than a "big" screen reduced to a portable projection device. To the viewer it appears to be a 60 inch flat screen while sitting a few feet away. In addition, the brightness increases and decreases randomly. Screen overlaid on a completely different part of the screen (irritating beyond words). I have a mid-range AMD/Radeon card, so I know it's not a hardware failure. Due to the granular level of control built into these devices , virtually ANY vision can be focused for almost any circumstance. Still, there's little justification for owning this particular device unless you're a frequent traveler and want a 'private cinema' (with great sound quality) as a buffer against the inconvenience and hassles of frequent travel. I bought them on purpose because the advertising site claimed they were VR. This is not possible without a gyroscope and a movement chip. I've seen mixed reviews (here and in video reviews) so I took a chance believing they would offer a true (immersive) VR experience. This product could not deploy it. As the title says, I REALLY wanted to like them, especially since they were so drastically reduced in price. In a nutshell, if you travel regularly (by plane/bus/train) they might suit you. Besides wanting a portable cinema, I see no point in keeping them. I will return them as the VR claim was wrong.

Pros

Cons
