This set contains only three basic colours: Red, Black/Grey and Cream/White. It's a fun image, but you'll end up working with the same color families over and over again. And you should definitely have the tools to apply longer series of colors to the sky, as it's practically the same color with very little variation. You can use this to practice laying longer rows. Once the sky is complete, a quarter of the canvas is complete, although the rest will take longer to detail. I recommend buying a tool with the ability to lay longer rows, which isn't included in this set, otherwise heaven can drive you crazy if you start hating this color. I would set the patience level (or skill level) to INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED. You can place longer rows of the same color all over the canvas at once, but not as many at once as in the sky if you have the tools to do so, but of course they will be dotted in some places. Using the tools to create longer rows of dots, you can finish this canvas pretty quickly. But of course everything you absolutely need for this project is included in the kit. My general thoughts on diamond painting: Diamond painting is a relaxing activity for me, it combines the best parts of puzzle solving and cross stitching and brings them together in one exercise. The end result is that you get a work of art when you want to use it. Sure, it seems like I'm creating more art than I can realistically use, but for the price of one of these kits, it's cheap therapy. I have a briefcase to store the canvases before and after they are made to keep them flat. The details of the image are certainly not as sharp as in the photo, but make for a pointillist painting with brilliance. I love pointillism and really enjoy it on so many levels.
