Okay, the comparison to Bose Soundwear (which seems to be discontinued) is inevitable, so I'll start with that. Is it really fair to compare one product to another when it is around 3-4 times more expensive? I believe the only fair way to do this is to compare "dollar to dollar". In this respect I think Boomerang is really good, maybe even better than Soundwear. Of course, if you put them side by side and ask an audiophile to compare the sound, Bose wins. But you have this thing around your neck and probably aren't wearing it to listen to symphonies, so how sharp and clear do you need the sound? it can be heard well throughout the room. But then again, it's on your neck. How loud are you gonna turn it up? Well, having said that, I really like Monster Boomerang. I wear them camping and don't want the headphones to completely block out the noise and not bother other hikers too much. Wearing it around my neck at a comfortable volume allows me to hear my surroundings while listening to music. Other tourists can probably hear my music when they are near me, but as soon as we pass each other we are back in our own worlds. The battery life is pretty good. I've used them for about 10 hours on various hikes and judging by my iPhone's battery indicator I still have some charge left. Pairing with the iPhone was easy the first time, and every time I turn them on, they automatically connect to the iPhone quickly. No problem. There are only four buttons that I honestly didn't use other than the power button as I rely on my Apple Watch or iPhone for volume control and answering/hanging up calls. I have received/made calls and the call quality from my end has been good and I have never heard any call quality complaints from the other end. Of course, anyone can easily hear your conversations, so that's it. The only thing I wish was different (and in this case Bose Soundwear gets it right) is that they don't sit around your neck/body like Soundwear does. They rest on your neck and there is a gap in front between them and your body. Nothing gets in the way, and maybe it even helps keep the sweat off them, but I always know that's why they're on my neck even in my free time, while with Soundwear I easily forget they're there. Bose isn't worth paying extra for, so after trying both I settled on The Masters and I'm pretty happy with that decision.
