Review on LOFTEK® 50W RGB LED Flood Light: Waterproof, High Powered, And Remote Controlled For Outdoor Security Lighting by Jerry Mangum

First off this is a well made light and seems very ruggesd for any outdoor use. Unfortunately, like many of the other reviews, the remote is not so great. I received two remotes in the box and wondered. why? Well the first one failed completely after about ten minutes. I swapped batteries from the second remote but no nice, still dead. So I have one good remote left. I complained to customer service and YES they will send me a brand new remote, .albiet in about 6 weeks! (they said their factory doesn't stock them). Also, the receiver on the light is very weak and you'll literally have to stand 2 feet to change the colors using the remote - there is absolutely no other way. On a plus side, light out is very good (I ordered the 50W version) and is about 1/2 the lumen of a standard 500W halogen bulb.In terms of the 'memory' feature. The latest version of this light DOES NOT default to the last known color/setting when power is lost or removed (i.e. power removed via extension cord or timer). Apparently, the older/original version did support that feature, but this one does not (I asked tech support about it and they confirmed that feature was only on their first model). I want mine set to the 'purple' color always, but when my timer cuts power, I get the factory setting again (rotates through four basic R/G/B/W colors so I have to use the remote to change it). The manual is non existant - you'll get a single color 3x5" notecard describing the features of the remote - that's it. All in all, a good product, but some features need improvement.
