I bought this product to repair a leather seat in my truck. I love my truck, and when my German Shepherd (who is NEVER allowed to sit in front of my truck!) decided to hop in the driver's seat by punching a triangle hole, I WAS CRAZY! I got sick too. The tear was about 2 1/2 inches long and was located on the rear underside, which gave a lot on entry and exit. I didn't want to look at that gap every time I got in my truck without getting angry, so I looked for OEM replacement seat covers first. For $200 it was a good option, but a lot of work and a bit pricey. I've looked at all the patches that make it "like new" but I just won't buy it. I decided to do a quick search for leather patches here just to see. Well it was advertised as real leather and my seats are black (so it's not hard to color match), decent reviews and for the price I was willing to give it a try. I figured my only other option was to replace the entire cover anyway, so the price of the patch would just be prohibitive if it didn't work. I received a large patch with the intention of trimming it. Genuine leather patch thick enough to be worn but flexible enough to conform to the shape of the seat. I cut it so that there was an adiquit overlap from the tear. The edges of the pre-cut edges are well finished, so I put the edge I cut into the cut. I cleaned the leather of any oil or dirt, gathered the tear, and patched it by simply removing the padding and rubbing it into the seat. I am very satisfied with the result! The patch sticks very well, so get it right the first time. After a few months the patch showed normal seat creases with no signs of wear and absolutely no lifting at the edges. It's not magic, you can see the patch if you look for it, but it doesn't look bad at all and it's permanent. i put it on The edges didn't rise at all! It's a place with high curves where my ass slides in and out in jeans. I assume this patch can survive the original skin. I was so impressed that I used what was left of the cut patch to repair the fray on my favorite leather chair.
