My husband is an electrician and this is a great tool if you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a quality alarm. Multiple lines are projected onto the floor, ceiling and walls. This makes it much easier to line up points to light the jars or find the actual center of the room. I've been using it for a few weeks now and haven't had to charge the battery yet, although it also includes a spare battery in case it dies and no power is available.
