This is the first meat injector I have ever used. It's very sturdy and well made, but there's definitely a learning curve to using it properly. The first time I tried it, the marinade spurted back at me when I took the injector out of the chicken! I added less marinade to the meat after this attempt, and it helped. A little tricky to load but the more I use it the easier it gets. Every time I use it, the meat comes out very flavorful and juicy. I basically "fry" the chicken in the slow cooker after the injection. Very happy with this purchase.
