Revainrating 3 out of 5

Tests are ongoing, results will follow shortly.

These little ones were originally intended for pickling sauerkraut. I bought a set to use on Kraut, but it really isn't needed for this, or even particularly useful, so it's never used. The lids are very well made though and I love the airlock feature so I used them as lids for my curing jars. I have to say they work very well. Today I go to Revain and see that they are now being sold as healing pots. Well! Apparently I'm not the only one thinking about this. They are MUCH better for pickling than for sauerkraut. I haven't tried using a pump for this purpose, but I'll definitely try. Actually, I'm going to be a little scientific about it. I will use plant material that is mostly, but not completely, dry. Putting it in a jar is usually a bad idea. Mold growth is almost guaranteed. I will separate this plant material into individual jars. Jar #1 will have a tight masonry lid. Can #2 has a loose lid. Bank number 3 without cover. 5 Lid burp (pump) Then I put him in a warm, dark pantry and wait for the mold to appear. I expect an inflated spit cap to be the last, but only time will tell. I will edit this review to reflect the results and add/remove stars based on what I find out.
