Review on Ultra Light Hollow Ergonomic Bike Seat Saddle – Comfortable and Water Resistant for Cycling Hiking Road Trips - Shock Absorption by Cedrick Ayudara

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Surprisingly comfortable; a little tuning tip

When I first saw and touched this seat, I thought it looked like a torture device. I was very skeptical of how it would feel, especially on long trips. But here I am, 30 days later, and I can tell you that it's significantly more comfortable than the old traditional custom seat it replaced, while being 100 grams lighter. The big surprise here is the steep tail, which you can easily nudge with the tail to get 5 or 6 more watts uphill. A small problem with this type of unpadded seat is that the hard nose can hit your legs when you get up to get up. When you lean back in your seat while lowering, the surface of the saddle is very unforgiving. This move requires some skill. The good news is that it only takes a ride or two to get used to these subtle changes. I've only ridden on the road in this seat. The setup is a bit tricky. Instead of using a level from tail to nose, level from the posterior fossa to the nose (see image). If you go the old tail-nose method, you'll end up having the nose press down on your landing gear too aggressively (on males, at least) and you lose the advantage of being able to press up a steep back. The goal is to achieve more lulling of your body. See pictures where you place your level. This seat is approximately 2mm higher than a standard road saddle and approximately 8mm higher than a flatter road saddle. Another great benefit is the airflow through the dam. The weather has been mild for the past month, so I cannot comment on the hot weather results yet. But on those chilly spring rides, I notice a little less sweat underneath. Overall, this saddle is a tremendous value. I would put this on any road bike without hesitation. I'll wait a few more months and then maybe try it out on my gravel bike. UPDATE (5/4/2021) - Just got a ride; Just over 20 miles with lots of climbs while sitting. This seat was excellent. With all the vents and air flowing through the seat, I felt a lot less warm than usual.
