Review on Venzo Mechanic Bicycle Truing Maintenance by Alfredo Testerman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very happy with the work stands

I have seen some bad reviews about this product and others like it. I tested 4 wheels (both mountain and road) and they all fit well. The "forks" easily fold over to accommodate different rear and front wheel widths. The only 2 reasons I didn't give it 5 stars are: 1. The pins used to slide in and out sideways for testing are unthreaded. They're smooth and you push them in and out. You just have to use trail and error to move them in and out a bit instead of being able to rotate them gradually if they were threaded. Not so hot what's up. 2. The forks holding the wheel pivot (particularly on the right side) loosen and rotate a little, making the wheel not move straight. All you have to do is turn the tension nut and keep an eye on it. Really good product for the price. I saw no need to shell out $200 for a "better" stand. The art of straightening wheels is knowing which spokes to tighten and which to loosen.

Pros
  • QUALITY: The right stand is made of quality steel and is well made. It features more comfortable grips for smooth, precise and easy operation.
Cons
  • Requires socket
