I recently bought an old Netgear GS724T switch in great condition but it was pretty damn loud. Noctua is known for making quiet fans, so I bought one. It was easy to install and makes a huge difference. I am very happy. For those who will have a similar situation, note - the GS724T has a two-pin connector and the Noctua has a 3-pin. It comes with a set of adapters - basically a simple crimp and two-pronged plug that you can install to make it work. I haven't tested this as I just gently inserted the fan connector into the connector for the correct polarity, but it comes with what you need to make it work properly. (You'll know you got it right because it still sounds like a fan, albeit quietly - if you get it wrong you can get a little voltage across the read line, as well as an odd whining noise.)
