Perfect for my retro rig

After getting the 12v version I got low cooling due to the fact that the Yahboom fan hat I put on was only 5v. After the replacement I met loads of cool air almost immediately. The Yahboom is programmed to use only 30% power at 40Β°C and even at 30Β°C I could still feel an airflow. And above all, be silent. I'll do some stress testing, but I doubt this little beast will let me down

Great replacement for noisy fans Netgear GS716T Ethernet Switch

I bought two of these fans to fix two noisy Delta Electronics 5V DC Brushless 40x40x10mm fans on my Netgear GS716Tv1 Smart Ethernet Switch (good base) Web Controlled -Switch to replace with VLAN, which I took almost for nothing). With two 40 x 40 x 20 mm Noctua fans swapped out, the noise level has been reduced by a factor of 10-20 (10-13 dBA) and is now acceptable for office use with a low hum and white noise of air movement. I used the original bolts with inverted nuts as that worked better…

Shut up Netgear GS724T

I recently bought an old Netgear GS724T switch in great condition but it was pretty damn loud. Noctua is known for making quiet fans, so I bought one. It was easy to install and makes a huge difference. I am very happy. For those who will have a similar situation, note - the GS724T has a two-pin connector and the Noctua has a 3-pin. It comes with a set of adapters - basically a simple crimp and two-pronged plug that you can install to make it work. I haven't tested this as I just gently…

I wish they came in black. Made in China.

Wish they came in black. Made in China. In the application I envision, the fan would be visible among other black hardware. I didn't really appreciate this fact at the time of ordering. I ended up changing the design to a black fan. If the fan is not visible in your application, be sure to continue. The current drawn was less than 0.1 ampere at 5 volts. The noise level was about what I expected.

Good airflow, quiet, good omnijoin adapter, redundant box

I used a Noctua fan instead of a noisy fan in the network switch. The included OmniJoin adapter is convenient to use and works well. I had to use anti-vibration fan headers because the previous fan screw holes were smaller than the Noctua screw holes. The anti-vibration fan connectors were installed and cut off, but the network switch chassis did not properly mate with the anti-vibration fan connectors. I had to press it but it worked. The fan moves a good amount of air, but not as much as the…

I installed this on top of a Raspberry Pi case!

I overclocked my raspberry pi to install retropy. It was difficult to play some N64 games. Let's just say that, along with some large heatsinks and arctic thermal binding. Don't forget a good Canakit power supply. I almost doubled the performance of the CPU and this fan really helped keep temperatures very low. It dropped another 10 degrees after being replaced with this fan instead of the smaller one that comes with most Pi kits.

Worked great in my Netgear GS724T v.1 network switch

I got this Noctua NF-A4x20 5 volt fan to replace the noisy fan in my Netgear GS724T v.1 network switch that has been driving the whole family crazy for the past few months. I had to disconnect the wires from the connector and reconnect the black and red wires to fit the old fan. Then I just taped the yellow wire back to the harness instead of cutting it. Plugged in and left. My family and I couldn't be happier!

A good little fan is best in a case Fans

Noctua makes good fans and this is no exception. I bought it to use in my router (which doesn't have a fan but gets very hot). Used for Omni connectors to power via USB cable through the speed controller (basically just a potentiometer in the box). I'll say this: At high speeds, it's quieter than most 40mm fans, but it still sounds like a RC airplane taking off. Don't expect it to be quiet, just quieter. I ended up taking it off and just putting a bigger fan underneath it, which is more…
