I used a Noctua fan instead of a noisy fan in the network switch. The included OmniJoin adapter is convenient to use and works well. I had to use anti-vibration fan headers because the previous fan screw holes were smaller than the Noctua screw holes. The anti-vibration fan connectors were installed and cut off, but the network switch chassis did not properly mate with the anti-vibration fan connectors. I had to press it but it worked. The fan moves a good amount of air, but not as much as the original fan. That's still enough air to keep the Switch cool while also being fairly quiet. The fan is still audible (at 5VDC, no PWM) but I believe this is mainly due to case design and not fan failure. The box is a bit redundant and has a great presentation but I would rather the item cost less than have a fancy box. All in all, this is a great product that can turn most server devices into home devices. Few can match Noctua's 40mm silent fans, so you'll have to deal with Noctua's high prices if you want a 40mm silent fan.
