Trusty Rusty for hand tools

Hello, I'm a widower so I cook what I really like and I'm also a big fan of the Spyderco brand (I'm an edged guns collector and I have a pair of blades from Spyderco) and one day I saw these kitchen / cooking blades so I decided to try them, I have several and they are just AWESOME! I use them all the time, they stay sharp, they're easy to manipulate, I'm so glad I have them! BUT, I hand wash the dishes and 99% of the time I dry them off and put them away, well Sunday night had one of my favorite programs on so I let my dishes dry on the kitchen rug, I got CRS and forgot about it and the next tomorrow i went to bed, i checked and put all those utensils away (not so much as it's just me and my dog!), i noticed a brown spot on one of the knives, right where the blade meets the rubber handle! I thought I didn't clean it properly but it wasn't dirt! It was rust! Along the bottom on either side is a spot actually dug into steel! Now the knife has been lying around for about 9 hours! The rest of the blade was perfect, no rust spot, just on the handle! As I reached for another knife, you can guess what I saw! So! The same, in the same area! In short, make sure you dry your amazing blades really well when cleaning before you do anything else! I can't see what's under the rubber grip but I bet it's ugly! So 4 instead of 5 stars! Btw I also have Cold Steel blades and in a few years of using this brand I have never seen rust! I still prefer Spyderco blades, I just wish I knew!
