I like the key and lock design for security. The key looks like a car key, which is pretty impressive for a bike lock. Unfortunately, this lock will scratch your bike. I lock myself in a crowded counter so people will walk into your lock and when they do it really hurts your bike. My U-locks are rubber covered to prevent scratches. This thing will scratch the entire protective coating and leave your bike prone to rust. So I used some good bike decals to protect my bike from him. It's good that I like to capture the places I've ridden on my bike. But if you're into bike cleanliness and want to keep your bike scratch and sticker free. ok, don't buy this lock. Also for portability, this lock is hefty. You definitely feel on the belt. I put it in a water bottle pocket in my bike bag but it was too heavy and ended up blowing a hole in it. So is it safe? Yes. Definitely I would use it on a well lit counter during a work day. But you should feel comfortable having your $1,000+ bike covered in scratches.
