So I didn't buy them because most people probably do. I bought these to make various furniture and platforms for my hamster and gerbils. Yes. This was the perfect fence for my winter white hamster's eating platform. As for purpose, I have no idea, but my rodents have nothing bad to say about these needles, and neither do I.
