Review on ๐Ÿ’ก Serfas Thunderbolt USB Headlight: Boost Your Visibility with Powerful Illumination by Chris Benton

Extremely bright light ruined by three problems

This and its matching taillight would be an epically bright, excellent light if it weren't for a few big problems: 1) The light gives absolutely no visible signs that the surrender is nearing completion. Most other lights dim a little before going out. When the batteries of this flashlight run out, it instantly turns from full brightness to off. This quality alone spoils this lamp for me. 2) Small batter, short lifespan. I don't drive that far every day (only 6-7 miles) and I usually only need lights on the winter evenings. Even then, the light is not enough for more than 3 trips. Combined with issue #1, the small battery sucks. 3) Awkward location of the USB port. On the back. Not available while driving. If it was on the side, top or bottom, the flashlight could be charged while driving. It's not like this. Bonus issue: While we're talking about USB, the port on the back of the flashlight is a *mini* USB. Nobody uses mini-USB anymore. Everyone uses mic. So I can't use any of my existing cables. Of course, a cable is included, but I would prefer just one type of cable.

Pros
  • Rechargeable USB flashlight that charges fully in 3.5 hours
Cons
  • So-so
