From the start there was a strong smell of hot plastic/rubber not only in the machine but also in the coffee. I've run the vinegar/water solution several times to try and clean the plumbing and kettle but to no avail. I then bought a glass cone instead of the supplied plastic cone. This didn't help either. I then removed the rubber boot from the carafe and ran it through the dishwasher. No help. Eventually, I started running 6 cups of water through the machine every morning before brewing coffee. While this didn't completely fix the issue, it did help. Crazy that I would have to do so much work for a mediocre coffee. Also, not all "spouts" where water drips/drains will work. I have three that don't drip water at all. upset.
