First impressions after 200 kilometers driven and switching to Continental's fantastic winter tires with spikes. Nokian Hakka summers prior to that, I can't recall which year (2022), I rolled into rags since I didn't care for them. Ford Mondeo, 145 horsepower, 205/55 R16 tires To sum up: fantastic rubber! When compared to Nokian, the latter are clearly inferior because of their poor traction on asphalt, excessive noise, and rapid wear from frequent braking. At least no accidents occurred, which is good news. Michelin tires are squishy, but I was able to drive along the snowy highway yesterday at +3 degrees with no trouble at all, just as if I were on solid land. They perform admirably in such conditions, maintaining a constant 120-140 km/h and stopping exactly where they're supposed to (I had no trouble stopping at red lights whereas my neighbors downstream on winter tires couldn't). If I'm not mistaken, Michelin is also superior to the winter studded Continental ContiWinter 5 since they are quieter, softer, and don't scour the ruts at high speeds. When opposed to PilotSport4, winter Conti is challenging even when the weather is above freezing. I think this is the greatest option for $4,880 per unit. Since no other company offers a product similar to the Continental SportContact 6 or 5, the price is naturally higher. It is my steadfast advice.
