This does exactly what it is advertised to do. I originally wanted to put one next to the basement drain because it gets clogged from time to time. I liked it so much I now have 15 of these around the house - in front/behind the fridge, behind each toilet, under each sink, under the plumbing, on the water heater drain. Station for water treatment in the tank! I was woken up by one of them one morning (3 different volume levels you can set) - just looked at my phone and it told me exactly where it was. An ice cube fell from the refrigerator's ice maker onto the floor and melted, setting off the alarm. Very easy to set up. It's worth a few hundred dollars for peace of mind to alert you to almost any water issue that might arise in the home, especially when we're not home.
