Cut my son's ankles

I wanted to like these. They seemed to fit my 18-month-old well, but whenever he bent over, crouched, or moved his legs in a million ways kids do, the Velcro that connects the strap would rub against his leg. He developed ulcers on his ankles after wearing a pair of short socks in those shoes. These shoes are back.

Pros

Effectively prevents blisters from forming even after prolonged wear.

Cons

Sandals may not be suitable for rough terrain.
