Stand appears solid but instructions are poor at best. I tried to put them in a place where gas struts had never been before. I had a hard time identifying a spot with multiple holes drilled. I also felt that the recommendation for my application (for use in RVs to raise one end of a double bed storage compartment) was a bit over the top. I could easily switch to 80 lb racks with acceptable results. The instructions are poor at best, I would say they are a good replacement for braces already installed, but if you are trying to install them where the braces weren't there you might find something with better instructions.
