Review on Paradiso Supreme Coloring Book by Tere Gott – 22 Exquisite and Enchanting Illustrations to Customize with Various Art Supplies – 0.5 lb Sturdy Paper with Tear-out Pages for Framing by Karla Richter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Large folio black and white reproductions on AMAZING paper that you can color/color yourself

black and white fine art prints by Chilean artist Tere Gotta that can be tinted, tinted, lightly tinted etc. Each engraving in the book is single-sided and clearly printed on luxurious light-teeth Bristol cream vellum. The paper is truly luxurious - better than most sheets of Bristol parchment I have in my paper stash. Each page is perforated along the inside edge so the print can be easily removed from the book and hung on the wall. Each page is coated in a glossy clear varnish so whatever you use to paint/paint a picture (if you even want to do it - the posters in this book are honestly ready to hang right out of the box). most likely not bleed to the side behind. I would still either delete the page before working on it or put something behind it just in case. The "prints" themselves are beautifully drawn lines with various "boho" themes - floral bouquets, moons, tattooed hands gesturing at the moon, a snake wrapping around a heart, a henna hand, a detailed mandala (the only detailed/fussy image in the book), the patterned surfboard, eyes, palm tree, etc. match the Palm Springs vibe. The line work is NOT detailed at all - in this book you either fill in huge blocks of color or fill in each of the areas with your own patterns and color mixes. It's really up to you to bring these images to the level of detail you want. If you're looking for intricate details that require a magnifying glass and a bunch of razor-sharp pencils, this won't satisfy you. As the book is very large and the drawings are very simple, you can either use the color block graphic style or layer and mix the colors to create many gradient and ombre effects. If you just bought this book and hung the pictures as is it would be worth the cost - black and white prints/posters like this on really GOOD paper that can literally stand on its own costing significantly more than the cost of the entire book. I think that's where the high price of this product comes from. I was skeptical about the price but when I received the book (which was well wrapped in bubble wrap plus two layers of cardboard and I assume the manufacturer did this to ensure it arrives in good condition) opened it and touched the thick paper, saw the art and started thinking about the possibilities, I was completely convinced of this product. If you like Tere Gott's art style and like to draw or paint and want to create something bigger and more "project-like" than a finished coloring book, I would recommend this. I'm really looking forward to taking on this - the simplicity of the images leaves so much room for interpretation depending on how you approach them. If you do an image search on Tere Goss you will see some of the pages she has created - you will be very inspired by the possibilities.
