It works! USB cable

I was hesitant to buy because there weren't any reviews so here it is. 1) It's cheaper than most of those patch cords. 2) This one comes with the necessary software; Of course, with other cables (see these reviews) you have to purchase the software separately, which makes these cables even more expensive than this one. NB: No need to download software and open accounts you don't want. Just plug a cable into your computer's USB port and a folder containing software for Windows and Mac will appear. The required software (Prolific PCLinq5) is preinstalled on the cable. Click on it and it will be installed in about a minute. NB2: Install this PCLinq5 software on BOTH computers you want to transfer files between. 3) This is USB 3.0 but backwards compatible with USB 2.0. I have a Windows 7 laptop that has ended support so it won't come online anymore. I have software on this laptop that I still use that creates 14-15GB files. This cable is great for transferring those large files to my new Windows 10 laptop (that's why they're included in the last computer's cloud backup). Note that my Windows 7 laptop only has USB 2.0 ports; my Windows 10 only has USB 3.0 ports. I've tried moving these large files to a flash drive and then uploading them to another computer, but it's a two-step process that took about 40-60 minutes. This cable reduces that time to 10-15 minutes per live transmission. Great cable. I hope it lasts. If not I will come back to update this review. Update 02/14/20: The transfer of several large files described above went smoothly. Later I transferred thousands of small files and found that the transfer process was interrupted because of a supposed problem with one file. It won't skip that file and continue with the rest. No, it doesn't show up at all. This happened several times. I solved this problem by transferring small batches of hundreds of files and then using a flash drive to transfer the folders containing the problematic files. The flash drive transferred these files with no problems. I'm not sure what's going on here, but I don't think it's a problem with this cable. Anyhow, this is an issue with the PCLinq5 software and is not unique to this cable.
