Replaces a similar 20 year old GE model that is experiencing button issues. I hate buzzers and love a cheap clock radio to wake me up. PRO: Big numbers and battery backup. You also get an AM and PM LED indicator. CON: No alarm LED. Instead, there's a small, recessed, unlit bar of color on the left that's barely visible. You can't see it in the dark to check if you set the alarm. You have to do this by groping for the alarm switch. On to other people's complaints: BATTERY: Any 9V battery will do, alkaline batteries are better as they last the longest for the money. If the power goes out for a few hours, the time is tight but wrong and still needs to be reset. SOUND: This is a clock radio with a small 3 inch speaker and no bass boost. What money do you need? TUNER: Analogue tuners are a little touchy - we're spoiled with digital tuners. Normally you only get the strongest stations. You should also re-tune from time to time as the settings will drift and sound harsh. You may need to move the Boundary Wire to change FM reception, or rotate the alarm itself to change AM reception. BUTTONS: Cheap clock radios with mode buttons work the same way. Simultaneously press the mode button and the hour or minute button to change the time. This two-finger method is failsafe, so you can't accidentally change anything. ALARM: Pressing the sleep button and then the snooze button turns off the alarm without touching the alarm/radio switch.
